Information Technology Department
Beavercreek Township’s Information Technology Department manages and maintains the metropolitan area network computer system used by Beavercreek Township employees & staff. It is responsible for the microwave, fiber optic and copper network infrastructure, servers, workstations, software and helpdesk functions of each Beavercreek Township Department or its divisions. This includes HIPAA-certified EMS run report databases, e-mail servers, file servers, and authentication/security protocols.
Mr. Jeffrey Ochester is the Network Operations Manager of Beavercreek Township’s Information Technology Department and the System Administrator of Beavercreek Fire Department’s Information Technology Division. His responsibilities include managing Beavercreek Township’s computer network and telephony infrastructure for seven facilities, and co-managing Beavercreek Fire Department’s Interoperability System (IOS). Since 1996 Jeff has been involved with Beavercreek Township’s
Fire Department as a Level II FireFighter & EMT-B. In 2002, Jeff began managing the Information Technology Department for Beavercreek Township fulltime. His certifications and training include (ISC)2, Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Macromedia/Adobe, M/A-Com, & JPS, along with NIMS (National Incident Management Systems) training. Jeff was a featured co-speaker at the 2006 IWCE show on IP-based interoperability systems. He has been involved in wireless, telephony, and the communications industry since 1995.
The Information Technology Department also manages the Fire Department's IT Division, which includes its Interoperability System (IOS) and related components. In 2003, the IT Division designed, implemented, and configured a complex four-node, seven-county interoperability system for use by Beavercreek Fire Department and its neighboring agencies. It continues to grow in size and scope as additional departments utilize its capabilities.
The Beavercreek Township IT Department works closely with outside jurisdictions creating network solutions and interoperability to include WPAFB, Greene County Data Processing Group, Montgomery County, the City of Fairborn, Sugarcreek Township, Dayton Power & Light, the City of Beavercreek, Beavercreek City Schools, and the Greene County Sheriff's office.
