[ARCHIVED] Tax Reduction for Damaged and Destroyed Properties

Greene County property owners are eligible to have their taxes reduced if they experienced storm damage by completing a simple form and returning it to the Auditor’s Office. A link to the form is below.

This program does not provide tax relief for the bills that will be going out later this month. Those taxes are based on the value of the property as it stood as of January 1, 2018. This program will provide tax relief for taxes due in 2020. The Auditor’s Office is asking the form be submitted by the end of August so that staff will have sufficient time to make the valuation adjustments before they start the tax bill calculation process which begins with filing the property values on October 1 with the Ohio Department of Taxation. Both residential and commercial property owners are able to take advantage of the tax relief it can provide.
